MiNi CiTy (3-5yrs)
As kids begin to prepare for the years ahead in elementary school, they ask even more questions. They are learning to tie shoes, and to color inside the lines. They begin speaking in conversations, not just sentences. And their knowledge of God, His love, and His plan, can increase dramatically. What would it be like for every child to enter kindergarten knowing “God made me, God loves me and Jesus wants to be my friend forever”?
ENVIRONMENT:
In our Pre-K environments (MiNi CiTy), children are immediately welcomed into an engaging activity that introduces them to the key concept for the month. As they participate, they will begin to see how they, even at a young age, can apply God’s word to their own lives. Even something as simple as learning “God made the world” can impact them for years to come.
In addition to participating in their small group environment, children will also enjoy a large group time of music and story that teaches God’s simple truths and a memory verse from God’s word.
MiNi CiTy has a required ratio of one Journey Kids team member for every eight children.
Children who are 3 years of age by August 31, 2011 will participate in Wonder Way. Children who are 4 or 5 years of age (but not yet in Kindergarten) by August 31, 2011 will participate in Discovery Drive.
SNACKS:
Children in this environment are offered Goldfish as the snack of choice. Occasionally, we may have an alternative snack that enhances the truth we are learning about God. If so, it will be posted on the outside of the room. Please inform the leaders of any allergies you are aware of.
