When Journey Church first began, we had to determine what we cared about.  Some people call them 'core values,' or simply put, the 'bottom line' of what we are all about.  Our 'bottom line' became our mission statement which is 'to connect you with God and others and to equip you for success in life.'   The statement seems simple enough but when you begin to apply it to your life, it is much easier said than done.

So at Journey, we accomplish that mission statement by elevating seven core values.

Value #1 - We care about God's Word, the Bible. The Bible is the foundation of Journey because we believe that it is God's revelation of Himself to us. Everything God has revealed to us about Himself and His desire for us in life is found within the pages of your Bible. So, when you come to Journey, that is what we will share with you.

Value #2 - We care about worship. We were created for God, not for ourselves. That may be a heavy statement, but true. We reach our fullest potential in life when we are living to please God. When you please God with everything in you it paves the way to a right relationship with Him. So, when you come to Journey, you will see that we are passionate about worship.

Value #3 - We care about proclaiming the Gospel. What that means is that we care about telling others about the love of God and inviting them into a life-changing relationship with God. God's desire is to have a relationship with you and we want to help you find it. So, when you come to Journey, you will find help to point you in that direction.

Value #4 - We care about families. When things are right at home, life is good, but when things are not right at home, it filters into all of our other relationships. We care about families because we know that healthy families in turn produce healthy churches and healthy communities. So, when you come to Journey, you will see that we place a premium on you and your family.

Value #5 - We care about authentic relationships. Let's face it, there are enough fake people and fake environments in the world, why add one more? At Journey, we leave our masks at the door. It is not about impressing others, it is not about what you wear, look like, say, or do. It is simply about being you and being in authentic relationship with others. God made us to be relational beings and real maturity and spiritual transformation comes through real relationships. So, when you come to Journey, you will meet real people connecting with God and others in real relationships.

Value #6 - We care about serving others. We believe that you are never more like Jesus than when you are serving others. Jesus demonstrated it by His life, death, and resurrection. He came not to be served, but to serve others. So, when you come to Journey, we will not only serve you but teach you how you can serve others.

Value #7 - We care about being relevant. When you come to Journey, we will meet you where you are today, not where we want you to be, not where you were last year or the year before, but where you are today. So, when you come to Journey, you will hear relevant music and relevant teaching to help you succeed in your life today. At Journey, we have worked hard at identifying what it is that we really care about. When we strip it all down, it comes back to you and your relationship with God and we want to help you connect with Him and others and find success in your life.
